How it works - Our Services

Marketing & Outreach

We provide you with communication templates and outreach materials to help you promote auction items and fundraising charters.

Charter Partner Onboarding

We screen for US Coast Guard compliance and make sure that each Charter Partner is meeting the network’s minimum giving requirements.

Communications

We follow up on all inquiries to answer questions about the Sailing for a Cause process and to refer you to our Charter Partners for specific charter related questions and bookings.

Website Highlights

We will highlight your auction, raffle and/or “Sail & Support” ticketed charter event on our website.

Nonprofit Certification

Only nonprofits with tax exempt legal status qualify for our donation program.

Payment & Logistics

Our services are always FREE to nonprofits.

Note: Sailing for a Cause is not a charter company and is not operationally liable for your charter experience. Nonprofits and Funders book charter experiences directly with our Charter Partners.

How it Works - Your Participation

Auction Items

Use the link below to request an auction or raffle certificate from any of our Charter Partners. You can choose from either:

A $300 Gift certificate (applicable toward the cost of any private charter ranging from $600-$2,400), or
2 tickets on any Ticketed Charter (Tickets range from $150-$175).

Certificate or ticket holders redeem the vouchers directly with each Charter Partner when making a booking.

Private Charters

Our Charter Partners will make a donation to your organization equal to 20% of the cost of any charter booked by one of your funders or supporters. Funders are encouraged, but are not required, to:

Use the charter as a fundraising or appreciation event for your nonprofit, or
Donate the charter as a high value auction item, or
Match our Charter Partners’ generous 20% donation with their own 20% donation.

Ticketed Charters

Use the link below if you would like to host a “Sail & Support” ticketed charter event for your nonprofit. Our Charter Partners will donate 20% of all ticket sales from that event to your nonprofit. All you have to do is promote your “Sail & Support” event among your friends, supporters, and donors.

Note: Ticketed Charters are open to the public so you do not need to fill the boat with just your supporters. Your nonprofit, however, will still receive the full 20% donation from all proceeds from that Ticketed Charter.

By accepting a donation, your nonprofit agrees to acknowledge Sailing for a Cause and our Charter Partner on your website and in all event publicity and related outreach materials.
